Excerpt from The Principles of Anatomy as Seen in the HandThis Volume owes its inception to several circumstances. First, it is the result of attempting to teach medical students such principles of anatomy as may be expected to interest them in their school work and assist them in their after-life as practitioners of medicine. But more immediately its origin is due to the necessity of choosing some circumscribed study in applied anatomy as a subject for a series of lectures. These lectures were given as a part of the Course of Instruction to officers of the R.A.M.C. at the Special Military Surgical Hospital, Shepherd's Bush.
